We want to change that. We believe that true success of an organization is built from the ground up, not from the top down.
In the traditional structure, the boss is always responsible and the staff is responsive to the boss. When you apply the principles of servant leadership, however, these roles get reversed. Staff members become the responsible ones, and the job of management is to be responsive to them.
The servant leader, therefore, puts the needs of others first, desiring to help people develop and perform to the best of their abilities. We believe that true servant leaders build healthier and stronger institutions, governments and cultures. As a result, the people they lead will become wiser, more productive, more generous and more likely to serve others than themselves.
By teaching and spreading the message of servant leadership, LDI helps to make our world a better place – one leader at a time. Our main objective is to serve as a global network for all those who study, practice or teach servant leadership.
